Their upcoming <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.searchenginejournal.com\/mobile-first-index-actually-mean\/178017\/#close\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mobile first index<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MFI) shows that between the different alternatives of showing mobile-friendly sites, responsive design is seen as the go-to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MFI greatly affects the Google ranking system. The greatest effect this has is on their search engine. Once MFI is implemented, search results would show results for pages designed for mobile devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a lot of work on Google, and a great deal to web designers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As web designers, it is our job to conform to the upcoming effects of the MFI by creating responsive web designs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2><span id=\"Whats_responsive_web_design\"><b>What\u2019s responsive web design?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<hr \/><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To put it simply, it allows websites to adapt to the device.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Computers, tablets, and smartphones all have a wide variety of aspect ratios and screen size. On a web page with no responsive design, the layout is the same on all devices &#8211; think clunky texts, small icons, janky paragraphs, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Responsive design automatically idealizes the best layout for each access seamlessly, with no need to manually pick between mobile\/desktop versions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2><span id=\"Why_recommend_responsive_design\"><b>Why recommend responsive design?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<hr \/><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Google implements MFI, you may think to yourself &#8211; why not just make a mobile website?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mobile versions may be a part of the solution. However, desktop users will not be recommended mobile websites as much as desktop websites.
